HomeLet pay £13 million in Rent Guarantee claims

2009 has been a busy time for HomeLet’s in-house Legal and Claims team. This year they’ve dealt with a record number of Rent Guarantee claims, helping landlords across the country through what can be an extremely difficult time.
- On average claims notifications have been 11% higher in 2009 when compared to 2008
- Since January 2003, we’ve paid out £13 million in Rent Guarantee claims alone
- In 2009 it’s expected that we’ll pay out over £3 million in Rent Guarantee claims
With unemployment set to remain high, 2010 could prove be a difficult year for many landlords. Some landlords still aren’t aware of the cover that’s available to them. Others wait until they’ve had to deal with the problem of rent arrears before they consider protecting themselves. But, when they’re covered by a HomeLet Rent Guarantee and a tenant fails to pay the rent – all they have to do is claim.
