HomeLet Rent Guarantee Premium Freeze
Posted on 01. Jan, 2010 by Matthew Carter in The HomeLet blog
In 2009 HomeLet Rent Guarantee claims rose by a record percentage when compared to 2008. Given the current economic climate we expect this figure to rise again in 2010, as more tenants struggle to meet their financial obligations.
Despite the expected rise in claims we’re happy to confirm that premiums for the vast majority of HomeLet’s Rent Guarantee products have not increased for over 5 years.
Andy Wynne-Jones, Head of Underwriting and Product Development at HomeLet commented, ‘We’re committed to providing our customers with comprehensive cover at competitive prices. We currently protect thousands of landlords across the UK with Rent Guarantee.’
‘Many insurers are under pressure to increase premiums due to the impact of rising claim costs, inflation and recessionary factors , but at HomeLet we’re pleased to announce that we’re able to maintain our current Rent Guarantee premiums on most of our products despite the fact that we paid out over £3m Rent Guarantee claims in 2009.’
